Chromias MVP Mainnet set to be launched on July 16
Chromia, a blockchain platform that focuses on relational blockchain technology, has announced that its MVP mainnet will be launched on July 16. This launch will serve as the foundation for Chromia’s broader ecosystem and will introduce its native cryptocurrency token, CHR. The mainnet will allow for the migration of the CHR token from its current ERC-20 and BEP-20 forms on Ethereum and Binance BNB Chain, respectively, to Chromia’s own blockchain.
The MVP mainnet activation will enable essential functions of the CHR token, such as network hosting fee payments and provider payouts, to be exclusively handled on the mainnet. Henrik Hjelte, Co-Founder of Chromia, expressed his excitement about the launch, highlighting the journey that led to the creation of Chromia, which began with the development of Colored Coins, the world’s first token protocol. He emphasized the realization of the concept of relational blockchain, which combines blockchain architecture with ideas from cloud computing and database theory.
Relational blockchain technology, developed by ChromaWay, allows for complex searches and calculations to be performed directly on the blockchain without the need for third-party indexing, data availability layers, and RPC servers. This technology provides developers with a range of tools to deliver a seamless user experience while adhering to the principles of permissionless and decentralized blockchain. With the mainnet launch, Chromia aims to increase network activity and boost its total value locked as more dApps are deployed and additional assets become bridgeable within the ecosystem.
