Kadena Partners with Lurk Lab to Develop ZK Bridge

On June 14th, 2024, in New York City, Chainwire reported that Kadena, the world’s only scalable Proof of Work blockchain, has entered into a partnership with Lurk Lab. The collaboration aims to construct a Zero-Knowledge technology stack on the Kadena blockchain, paving the way for secure cross-chain messaging.

Kadena and Lurk Lab are working on a comprehensive ZK roadmap, which includes the development of a ZK bridge connecting Ethereum and Kadena. The project is set to achieve two major milestones in the second half of 2024, with a third milestone scheduled for completion at a later date.

John Wiegley, Kadena’s Chief Technology Officer, expressed his excitement about the advanced capabilities that Lurk Lab is bringing to ZKs on the Kadena platform. He highlighted the potential impact of integrating zero-knowledge technology into Kadena, particularly in enabling secure cross-chain messaging.

John Burnham, Co-Founder and CEO of Lurk Lab, also shared his enthusiasm for the partnership and the integration of ZK technology into Kadena. He emphasized the importance of zero-knowledge cryptography in the Web3 ecosystem and praised Kadena’s leadership in utilizing functional programming techniques to enhance performance and safety.

Kadena is known for offering the industry’s only Proof of Work Layer 1 blockchain that is highly scalable, secure, and decentralized. Founded in 2017 by Stuart Popejoy and Will Martino, Kadena aims to drive blockchain adoption by providing a platform for solving real-world problems for businesses. With its security-focused smart contract language, Pact, Kadena empowers users to develop high-value systems on its infrastructure-grade blockchain.

Lurk Lab, on the other hand, specializes in building tools that make provable computing fast, safe, and easy. By combining zero-knowledge cryptography, formal verification, and distributed consensus technologies, Lurk Lab enables software to be as reliable and powerful as mathematics without compromising on performance.
