“ChatGPT selects three stocks for long-term investment.”

Attempting to time the stock market perfectly with each trade is often considered more trouble than it’s worth. Instead, it is better to make strong picks and hold onto shares for the long term, despite any temporary challenges. This strategy can lead to significant returns and dividend yields, as demonstrated by the wealth growth of Warren Buffett, known as the king of getting rich slowly.

However, selecting the right stock to hold onto forever, or at least for decades, is not an easy task. Simply choosing blue-chip companies is not enough, as evidenced by the downfall of giants like Enron and Kodak. Enron collapsed due to fraud, while Kodak struggled to adapt to a changing industry.

To find potential candidates for long positions, Finbold sought the help of OpenAI’s flagship AI model, ChatGPT. The AI model suggested some strong picks for long-term investments.

Amazon is one of the AI’s top picks. It highlighted Amazon’s past successes and recent developments, such as its dominance in the e-commerce market and its rapidly-growing cloud business. Amazon’s stock price in 2024 has shown a 23.98% rise year-to-date.

Microsoft is another strong long-term play according to ChatGPT. The AI pointed out Microsoft’s ability to grow, diversify, acquire promising companies, and stay at the forefront of innovation. In January, Microsoft became the world’s biggest company by market cap. Its stock price in 2024 has grown 9.84% since the beginning of the year.

Johnson & Johnson was described as a strong defensive stock in the healthcare industry, known for offering exceptional long-term returns. ChatGPT highlighted the stability of JNJ’s earnings and dividends. Although JNJ has been struggling in 2024, falling 6.41% year-to-date, its current price presents a value buying opportunity.
