Modular AI blockchain 0G introduces Testnet Newton v2
0G, a cutting-edge data availability network and modular artificial intelligence (AI) blockchain, has recently introduced Testnet Newton v2, which brings stability fixes and security enhancements. This update, shared with Finbold on June 10, follows the success of Testnet v1, which boasted over 600,000 wallet registrations and high community engagement.
Testnet Newton v2 comes with essential upgrades, including improved scalability and interoperability as a Cosmos-based Proof-of-Stake (PoS) chain. The introduction of new modules for data availability services and committees enhances network performance and reliability, ensuring consistent data accessibility.
Some key features of Testnet Newton v2 include advanced monitoring capabilities, which enhance the tracking of services like storage nodes and key-value stores. The testnet’s faucet system now has stronger safeguards against abuse, ensuring integrity and efficiency.
Michael Heinrich, Co-Founder and CEO of 0G, highlighted the importance of this release, stating, “Testnet v2 is more than just an upgrade; it signifies the thriving 0G community. The overwhelming response to v1, with over 600,000 registered wallets, highlighted the necessity for a more robust and scalable network. Testnet v2 fulfills that promise, introducing critical features like data availability services and a rigorous validator selection process to ensure a secure and high-performing platform.”
The community’s excitement for the release has led to over 2,500 validator applications, with 121 validators chosen to maximize the testnet’s integrity.
To protect the 0G ecosystem, advanced plagiarism detection mechanisms have been implemented, with ongoing efforts to enhance them further. Additionally, flexible policies for validator rotation are being developed to attract new participants, ensuring enhanced security and inclusivity in the network.
Testnet Newton v2 signifies a significant step forward for the platform, reinforcing its dedication to making AI services a public good while establishing a secure, scalable, and inclusive network.
